Some may think that Australia sounds more like a place for vacation instead of missions - isn’t everyone there already a Christian anyway? While it might sound like a nice place to visit, here is some of the reality about the spiritual situation there.

  • Australia is not a Christian country. Less than 2-3% of children are in Sunday school or adults in a evangelical church on any given Sunday.
  • Australia has lots of international students. Approximately 30% are from outside Australia on campus, mostly from Asia & the Middle East. They are open to the message of Christ while in school, and many are responding to the gospel. Our vision is to win them to Christ, build them, train them and send them back to their home countries as missionaries to their own people.
  • Australians make great missionaries. Their passports get them many places where Americans are not welcome. Aussies love to travel and tend to have attitudes that just don’t give up amidst rough circumstances. Therefore, ministering in Australia is part of helping releasing resources for missions globally.
  • God is at work on Aussie campuses. Amazing growth has been seen in the past 10 years, and the vision is to be on every major campus in Australia by 2020, plus several more international locations (currently in Japan & the Middle East). God is drawing students into the Kingdom on Aussie campuses!
