Our story begins at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Now, there’s not many specifics we remember on the academic side of things. What we could tell you were the names of our friends and the times we skipped class to go grab coffee or hang out in the student union. What ended up being most important to us about college was not the information we learned, but the people we met, the relationships we formed, and the life lessons that came about. That’s college. At Miami, we became convinced of two things. People are lost without a relationship with Christ, and we have a unique opportunity to help them find the solution to their problem.
Upon graduation, we were confronted with the question, “How would the gospel play out in our lives?” The answer became very clear. We would spend the best days of our lives telling others about this great story. And so, in 1991, we joined the staff of Cru. Our hope was that every student would have numerous, attractive opportunities to hear this gospel that captures their heart, transforms their life, and launches them into a life long adventure. We couldn’t think of anything better to suit our gifts and passions.
As we got older (we’d like to say “gained experience”), we began to seek out ways that we could participate in sharing the gospel with an even wider audience. Following 16 years of ministry at Virginia Tech, we moved to Texas so that Dave could finish off his degree at Dallas Theological Seminary. We are now headed to Melbourne, Australia so that he can serve as the Regional Director for the State of Victoria.
Our children are wonderful additions to our family. We enjoy raising them in the midst of a ministry that is reaching out all over the world. We pray our children will reap dividends of this experience, paid in the form of a godly life.
